Hot Tapping Machine
Safe Option Solutions can provide Tapping Machines and Tapping Bands to suit your site requirements. The Norcast Tapping Machines are a hand-operated range of under pressure tapping equipment designed to satisfy the demands associated with installing service connections into live reticulation mains. When used in conjunction with a service valve they enable the operator to tap into any type and size of main with outlet connections ranging from 15mm through to 50mm.
The Norcast Tapping Machines are designed to facilitate the tapping of 15, 20, 25, 32, 40 & 50mm service connections in pressurised water mains without interruption to the service. Gunmetal adaptors are available for the machines, which may be used singly or in tandem to suit either a TPFNR ferrule plug cock or a ball valve in the sizes shown.
Cutters and a pilot drills are supplied with the units for use on Steel, D.I. (Ductile Iron) C.I. (Cast Iron), A.C. (Asbestos Cement), or P.V.C. pipes.

MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATIONS
- The maximum working pressure of each unit is 3.5MPa (500PSI).
- The maximum allowable temperature is governed by the suitability of the rubber seals; Nominal Maximum temperature 100ºC.
NOTE: Seals may be available in different materials that will withstand higher temperatures, however consideration should also be given to the compatibility of not only the seal material, but also all materials with the medium in the pipe, if it is anything other than potable water. Suitability for use on anything other than potable water requires further evaluation.
